Soul’s nescience and befuddlement

My knowledge through instruments provided by You
Is, alas, poised in Paasam. O Truth abiding at
Vennainallur, why am I so fated? When I gain O Pati,
Your own knowledge, I stand sundered from
Both Paasa and Pasu gnaanam. Enlighten me
Why my knowledge is of two types.
