gnaayi'raay :namanu maaki varu'nanaays soama naakith
theeya'raa :niruthi vaayuth thippiya saa:ntha naakip
paeya'raak kaaddi laadum pigngnaka ne:nthai pemmaan
theeya'raak kaiyar poalu:n thiruppaya'r 'roora naarae.

Translation:

Civaṉ being the sun.
being also the god of death being the god of water being the moon and being niruti, air, Kupēraṉ and Īcāṉaṉ the destroyer who dances in the cremation ground from which pēys do not leave.
our father our god the Lord in tiruppayaṟṟūr has in his hand fire that does not leave it.
