He is the hoary and abiding Light That stood a column of glorious flame Beyond the ken of the darkly-bright and red-eyed Maal And the one ensconced on the fragrant Lotus;
He is the Light beautiful that sets at nought Bewilderment;
He is the Light infinite that abides Beyond the extensive earth,
the seven worlds,
The ether and the heavens.
He is of Perumpatra-p-Puliyur.
Unlived indeed are the days unspent in His praise.
