The hero speaks:
He who shares His body with Her whose breasts
Are like the beauteous buds of konku,
Triumphed over the evil ones
By destroying their cities.
Why should she,
who is like unto
His Chitrambalam,
grieve so sore?
Does she think the parted
Are seldom reunited?
Or does she think that she would be stigmatized
Should she continue long to tarry here?
Alas,
I stand bewildered.

13. Fearing estrangement
Why aggrieved is she, verily the conscious of the holy spatium of His,
Who is concorporate with Her of kongu bud-like breasts,
And who destroyed triumphantly the citadels
Of the narrow anti-vedic evil!Is she anxious
Thinking it’s dear to unite again? Or does she suspect shame or blame
Over a long spell of separation?
