The hero speaks:
He is the Lord of Chitrambalam
Whose forted walls can be eyed from great distance;
He is the Peerless One that could devour poison
Churned out of the sea,
as though it were food;
In all directions of the world by Him created
When I cast my looks,
I but behold
The figure of her who is a flowery liana;
She has sparkling eyes like black carp;
Her lips are ruddy like luscious fruit;
She is loaded with jewels wrought of fresh gold;
Her breasts are shapely and symmetrical.
Translation: T. N. Ramachandran,Thanjaavoor ,1995
(Hero reminisces heroine\\\'s..)
So he thought of his liana-lady-Love,
Her breasts burnished, mouth and lips
Fruity red,eyes frisking carps to view
In all airts of the world carved
By nonpareil Lord of Tillai, girt with forts
Of alpha magnitude, from afar seen
Despite distance,that quaffed the Venom
In single draught-as-cider seething off the main!
(Sol eyes Civam everywhere and knows but for Grace the mundane is a mere naught)
Translation: S. A. Sankaranarayanan, Kumbakonam, 2014
