The Primacy of Grace
He is the sole support of them that have given up
Their nexus with their kith and kin, parents and all else.
Others merely wallow, not gaining this supreme support.
He who is beginningless and endless made
His advent, controlled my cruelly-vagarious
And ever-errant manam – verily an intractable monkey -,
Steadied it and did away with its befuddlement
Bred by pervasive murk. Lo, in Him I stood
Poised, denuded of any further commutations,
In advaitic union in which He and I are neither one
Nor two and also neither not one nor not two.
Though He did not make me His equal, He made
Me gain all glory; besides gifting Himself to me,
He gave me to myself. He caused me to get poised
In His vast sea of Bliss, conferring thus on me
The ever-during Bliss that knows no satiety.
He exposed me to His divine munificence by His
Internal and external and uninterrupted abidance
In me; He, my King, crowned me with His flower-feet.
He is Meikanda Deva, the Ruler of Vennainallur
On the banks of the Pennai of ceaseless flow.
The merciful One is entempled in Arullturai.
He, the Queller of Aanava and other malas, is indeed
The soul’s peerless Eye for all the beings in the cosmos.
