காத்தாள்பவர் காவல் இகழ்ந்தமையால் கரைநின்றவர் கண்டுகொள் என்றுசொல்லி
நீத்தாய கயம்புக நூக்கியிட நிலைக்கொள்ளும் வழித்துறை யொன்றறியேன்
வார்த்தையிது வொப்பது கேட்டறியேன் வயிற்றோடு துடக்கி முடக்கியிட
ஆர்த்தார்புனல் ஆர்அதி கைக்கெடில வீரட்டா னத்துறை அம்மானே.

Translation:

the father in Atikai Vīraṭṭāṉam on the bank of the Keṭilam full of water!
as I neglected the word of the watchman of the tank, who sees to it that none make the water unclean.
those who were standing on the bank telling me you yourself find the depth of the tank.
as they pushed me to get into the tank which has water of swimming depth.
I do not know any way in the ghat to stand in the water just deep enough to stand.
I have not heard any news like this till now.
to make me disabled by bringing together the intestines with the belly.
they went satisfied the first four lines are allegorical
